THE IMPORTANCE OF FELLOWSHIP

1st Thessalonians 5:11 says “therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing”

There’s a popular saying that references the fact that no man is an Island. In the the same vein, as Christians, we, individually, do not have what we need to achieve what we want. This is where the need to fellowship comes in. Fellowship doesn’t necessarily mean that we need to be in a church or in a hall singing and praising God.

Fellowship can simply mean the act of coming together with people we know and ones we don’t to learn from and support each other.

The bible verse above acknowledges that the people being addressed were comforting and edifying each other but still entreated them to continue to do so.  Such activities ensure that we remain strong and find the support we need to undertake and succeed in all our numerous endeavors.

We all need to find people we can support and in doing this we’ll find people that can support and help us as well. If there are no existing forums or groups you can join, create your own. You can start small, get a couple of friends together on an ongoing and consistent basis. You’ll be surprised that in no time it’ll become a forum that people are be willing to pay to attend and be a part of.

May God give us the grace to find like minded people to fellowship with.

Have a blessed day all!

RENEWAL…..

Revelation 21:5 says “he who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new” Then he said, “write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”

Let me just put this out there, God words never fail.

Some people think or say that the because the promises God made them hasn’t come to pass or it’s taking too long to manifest that maybe the word or promise wasn’t for them in the first place. Some people eve take it to another level and say that God’s word didn’t come to pass.

As I’ve written before but will point out again, God’s word never ever fails. Our understanding of how to bring the promises to life might have issues, but God’s word perfect.

With reference to Revelation 21:5 above, let’s pray for a renewing of our minds in addition to every other thing that we pray for. This will give us the mind of Christ and enable us to know what we need to do and when we need to it.

God’s words are always trustworthy and true and for anyone one among us that doesn’t know how to bring the promises to life, pray for renewal.

May God have mercy on us all and give us the grace we need to actualise our prophetic destiny.

Have a blessed day all!

DO THE RIGHT THING.

Galatians 6:9 says “and let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart”.

Most people, in a lot of instances can usually tell and know right from wrong. As an example, it’s quite clear that people shouldn’t kill other people just because they don’t like them. It’s universally accepted that killing other people is just not the right thing to do – this applies if other people are watching or not or if you can get away with it or not.

There are instances however, where there are seemingly no repercussions or consequences for doing the wrong thing or it just seems easier to not do the right thing. Because there are no cameras doesn’t make it ok to run a red light, you know it’s not right. It’s not right to take all the cash in a wallet you see on the ground because there are no people looking. You know the right thing to do is to hand it over to the relevant authorities so they can locate its rightful owner.

One thing the Galatians 6:9 reminds of is that we should never get tired of doing good, of doing the right thing. Regardless of how long it takes, we will always reap a great reward because every good deed we do will be accounted to us for righteousness.

May God give us the strength to always do good.

Have a blessed day all!

PERSEVERANCE AND PATIENCE

Habakkuk 2:3 says “for the vision is yet for an appointed time; but at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry”

A lot of us have goals and objectives in life. Things we strive and work hard on a daily basis to realise. Some of these goals and objectives however, are quite elusive and aren’t forthcoming no matter how hard we work.

There could be a number of reasons for the lack of progress on our goals; one of which could be we are focussing on the wrong things another could be the lack of a proper plan to realise the goals and objectives.

That said, there are instances where both points above are done right – occasions when we focus on the right goals and have a robust plan in place – but we still don’t get what we expect.

When we’re doing what we need to do and we know we’re in the place God wants us to be, the only other thing for us to do to realise our goals and objectives is to exercise patience and persevere. We need to take the words of Habakkuk 2:3 to heart and persevere until the things we’re praying for and working towards are manifested.

We all need to pray that it won’t take long for our expectations to be met. May God meet us all at the point of our needs in Jesus name.

Have a blessed day all!

DECISIONS, DECISIONS, DECISIONS….

Proverbs 3:5-6 says “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct your paths”.

You have a decision to make, there are two clear paths before you but they both won’t lead to the same outcome. You’ve thought about both of them and sought the counsel of a number of people. You’ve gotten good arguments in favour of both paths.

The question now is which path to take? Do you follow your gut or follow the advice of the person you like best? I’ll suggest you take the words of Proverbs 3:5-6 to heart and seek the face of God. It’s very clear in what it says – in all your ways acknowledge God and he shall direct your paths.

A lot of people find it quite difficult to trust in God and feel more comfortable to seek and take on the advice of people (who mostly operate in their own understanding). The problem with this is you don’t know what biases and agendas the people providing the advice lean on when you speak to them.

God however, only wants the best for us and we should always, always seek God because he’s the only one that we can be sure a 100% that whatever he tells us is not tainted with biases or provided out of context.

I pray God arises to meet us at the point of our needs and provides answers to the decisions we need to make to help us fulfil destiny.

Have a blessed day all!

FIND ONE, AND LISTEN

Luke 5:4-6 says “when he had stopped speaking, he said to Simon, launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch. But Simon answered and said to him, “master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at your word I will let down the net.” And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking”.

For people not familiar with the above verses, the person speaking to Simon was Jesus. These three verses are a perfect example of someone doing something that seemingly made no sense but it turned out to be great advice. Because he obeyed, Simon caught “a net breaking harvest” and till this day that has become a euphemism for receiving a great blessing.

So many of us want to take decisions and seek advice from the people around us. Often times, we may seek advice from three or four people and receive three or four different pieces of advice. I don’t know about you but I would be utterly confused in a situation like this.

If on the other hand you had someone (called a master in the above verse), usually called a mentor that is knowledgeable and experienced, a lot of people will be able to make better decisions and fulfil their goals and objectives.

I entreat you all to be wise and to not only seek out a mentor, but to obey and heed their advice. There’s absolutely no need to fight battles that others have already won.

Therefore become like Simon – get a mentor and listen to their priceless advice.

May God help us all, have a great day!

SEEK HELP

Isaiah 41:10 says “fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand”.

In what has seemed like just a couple of days since the beginning of the year, January is gone and February is already here. Some of you had plans for what you expected to have achieved by now but those plans haven’t materialised.

I’m here to tell you to not give up and to seek help. One thing a lot of people do not appreciate or fully understand is that they need help with whatever they want to do or achieve. Trying to go it alone often ends up being a recipe for frustration. When people become frustrated, they are more likely to become discouraged, give up and stop pursuing what they set out to achieve.

The bible verse above is very clear and straightforward, it says you shouldn’t be dismayed because God will strengthen and help you.

This help can take a number of forms, it could be insight into who to work with or how to carry out an action. It could also be God sending someone to you that’ll give you exactly what you need at a point in time.

So, to achieve your goals in 2018, I entreat you to seek help and it’ll be given to you.

Have a blessed day all!

USE YOUR GIFTS, SKILLS AND TALENTS

Proverbs 18:16 says “a man’s gift makes room for him, and brings him before great men”.

While some people are praying to God to reveal to them their natural gifts, skills and talents, some already know what they were born to do. Of the people that already know what their gifts, skills and talents are, a great number of them ignore these skills and persist in doing other things.

This situation, at times is unfathomable to me because the bible verse above is quite clear in its message. All a lot of you need to do is to utilize what God has already given to you and it is in the place of doing what you’re good at that you will fulfill destiny.

You need to stop trivializing whatever skills or talents you have. Not all skills are manifested in athletic prowess that makes people great footballers or sportsmen. The application or utility of some skills are not readily visible. However, regardless of how unclear you are at monetizing your skill or talent, you need to keep at whatever it is you are good at.

The bible doesn’t lie and whenever you want to become discouraged, remember the words of Proverbs 18:16 and know that an audience with great men and women is on the horizon.

May we receive grace to persevere in Jesus name.

Have a great day all!

YOU HAVE EVERYTHING YOU NEED

Exodus 4:1-3 says “then Moses answered and said, but suppose they will not believe me or listen to my voice; suppose they say, ‘The Lord has not appeared to you. So the Lord said to him, what is that in your hand? He said, a rod. And He said, cast it on the ground. So he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from it”.

Many of us go round in circles trying to learn new skills by reading books to self-learn or pay to go on a course. Learning something new is a good thing but if done compulsively and obsessively, it can become debilitating. After learning some things (or taking stock of the skills we have) a time has to come where we need to use the knowledge or skills we already have to start a business, to get a job or do whatever it is we want to do in life.

With reference to Exodus 4:1-3 quoted above, God wanted to use Moses and Moses kept coming up with reasons why he couldn’t do the task God wanted him to undertake even though he had everything he needed.

That situation is applicable to a lot of us today. We keep coming up with excuses for why we can’t do what we need to do, we keep saying something else or something more.

I’m here to say to someone that you already have what you need to succeed and you need to use what you have to make it happen. You need to look at things differently, the rod Moses believed was just something for leaning on when he walked became a serpent,  was used to get water from a rock and parted the Red Sea.

What skill do you have that you think is unimportant? That skill, whatever it is, I daresay is important to someone else. What you need to do is find who your skill or art is beneficial to and the rest will be history.

I pray God gives you the knowledge, wisdom and understanding required to utilize and capitalize on what God has already given you.

Have a blessed day all!
